2016‏ (Jan 4th 2016)

Well hello, family and friends happy new year. I can't believe it is already 2016. This last week was a fairly good week other than the weather.

Monday it rained none stops it was extremely cold.

Tuesday it snowed. Well, it snowed during the night which was cool because we woke up to a little bit of snow. It was really cold that day. We also found someone new to start teaching. His name is Eugen he is a nice guy who is about 60 years old. We first met him about 2 weeks ago but our schedules didn't match up so we finally got to teach him we had a great first lesson with him he actually asked if he could be baptized again which was really cool. He has grown up catholic his whole life and has bounced from church to church. He said none of them have just not felt right. Which is exactly what you want to hear on the first lesson. We knocked around more and saw some less actives.

Wednesday was a good day we did a lot of knocking doors which is fine we talked to two people who want us to come back so that was good it was really cold that day. Well, this week, in general, has just been cold. Skinner gets cold really easy and so it has been extra cold for him. Poor kid. Well, anyways we also went a long ways on our bikes so it was a cold physically exhausting day.

Thursday was much better we started off the day by having district meeting. I gave a training on following the spirit it was a great training. Our district leader told us that it was a approved by President that we could watch movies and hang out with members after 5 pm which was a shock. After district meeting, we went to a members house for lunch and it was awesome we had chili and grilled cheeses. For dessert, we had Brownies n Ice Cream. So Good. They dropped us off and we went to a lesson with one of our investigators who is a little stubborn to say the least more than Ronda ever was. It was almost a 2-hour lesson which is fine. It was 5:45 pm so we called up Richard Mudd (a member in the ward) and he picked us up and we went back to his home and watched inside out which is the best movie ever. It pulled at my heartstrings a little bit. We finished out the night with them and it was a great time.

Friday was fun we helped out brother Jess with some stuff which in all reality wasn't that fun. He is renovating his mother in laws house and had us come over and scrap the concrete in the house so it would be smooth so when they lay tile and carpet there would be no lumps. It was tough but we finished the task. He bought us papa johns pizza and two Gatorades which was good with me. Brother Jess is a great guy we went out after that and knocked on more doors I know it doesn't sound fun but Skinner and I make it fun.

Saturday was fun we cleaned the chapel from 9 am to 12 pm it was long and boring but we got through it. Then we had lunch and studies and tried people then went to a less actives house and picked up his granddaughter as an investigator which was really cool because that can help him get to church.

Sunday was a great day we had some changes in the bishopric and that night I got a call from the sisters and one of their investigators that I have talked to and gave a blessing to wants me to baptize him on this Saturday sooooo cool, I am just excited right now.

Today we will be going to Springfield and playing basketball I am so pumped right now I can't even think straight. Wow, it has been a great week and I hope you all have a great week as well love you and don't forget to read your scriptures.

Love,

Elder Washburn
